A successful career in the Maritime Sector starts with a good education. Canada has excellent post secondary education opportunities for those interested in working in a Maritime Career.

 

Royal Military College - The Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) lays the foundation for the professional and personal skills necessary to meet the unique challenges of a career as a Canadian Forces officer. With Arts, Science and Engineering Degree programs, RMC is the first place you should look if you are interested in a Naval Career.

 

 

Canadian Coast Guard College - The Canadian Coast Guard College is committed to excellence in educational programs and their accompanying services. The Canadian Coast Guard is dedicated to delivering high quality, up-to-date maritime training and services in a progressive, bilingual and client orientated facility. The CCGC programs emphasise both professional development, and educational initiatives. Programs include Marine Engineering, Environmental Response, Search and Rescue, Navigation and more.

 

 

Marine Institute - A world-class Centre of Excellence in education and advanced fisheries and marine technology, offering degrees, both - Masters and Baccalaureate, one-year advanced diplomas, two and three year diplomas, certificate and vocational programmes, and a wide range of short courses and industrial response programmes and workshops.

 

 

Dalhousie University - A centre of excellence for Marine Biology, International Policy, Maritime and Strategic Studies.

 

 

Georgian College - Georgian offers many programs at the Owen Sound campus that enable you to work in worldwide occupations, such as Marine Engineering and Marine Navigation. They also have one of the highest grad placement rates in the Province.

 

 

British Columbia Institute of Technology - BCIT is British Columbia's premier career-training institute and offers programs in Marine Engineering, Nautical Sciences, Master Mariner, Fishing Master and more.

 

 

NSCC Nautical Institute - Marine training in Nova Scotia can be traced back as far as 1873 when a navigation school was established in Halifax. The Nautical Institute continues to provide this essential service to the marine industry through a broad range of courses that utilize state of the art training resources.

 

 

Marine Institute of Quebec - Unique in Quebec, the IMQ trains and prepares a competent work force for all fields related to the sea and transportation business. The quality of the training offered by the I.M.Q. is recognized worldwide.
