Volunteer Opportunities

The Navy League of Canada not only provides exciting opportunities for youth through the Navy League Cadet and Sea Cadet programmes. We also have rewarding range of volunteer opportunities for adults. Whether you enjoy teaching and working with youth, or would like to develop your management skills as a member of your local Branch Executive. Even if you only have a few hours a year to give, we are happy to match your talents and time to a suitable volunteer position.
The Navy League is a volunteer led organization, so we appreciate the challenge of balancing career and family and understand how truly precious your free time is. We also know what it means to make your free time count. Volunteering with us a hobby that also brings the reward of knowing that you are helping to build a better community, and a better country.
Many of us are parent of cadets, and have made the Navy League a family activity. We volunteer while our children are participating in their training programme. Many of us were cadets ourselves, and have dedicated our time in appreciation for the great experience we had in our own youth, ensuring that today's children have the same opportunities that we enjoyed.
We come from all walks of life, all ages and many different occupations, but we all share a common purpose. We hope you will join us, and see for yourself why many of us have volunteered for 20 years or more with the same organization.
The Navy League Cadet program had cadet corps across the country and is always in search of new officers. Navy League Officers are not paid but the rewards are invaluable. To learn more about how to become an Officer with the Navy League Cadets, click here.
The Royal Canadian Sea Cadets are led by officers from the Cadet Instructor Cadre (CIC). Sea Cadet Corps are located in all 10 provinces and they too need your help! To learn more on how to become an Instructor, visit the Cadets Canada website.
Every Sea Cadet and Navy League Cadet Corps has a sponsoring committee, called a Branch. The members of a Branch are typically parents, but also include former officers and cadets, veterans and other community leaders.. If you're interested in joining your local Branch, you can contact the National Office via email, give us a call at 1-800-375-6289, or use our Corp Locator to make direct contact with your closest Branch.
